BOOK 2 “EXODUS”
Title: Exodus
Book 2 of "ANOTHER BLUE"
"Exodus" weaves a complex tapestry of resilience, adventure, and emotional depth, effortlessly transitioning between the chaotic and the serene, crafting a compelling narrative perfect for establishing this new sci-fi franchise.
Book 2 opens in the lush, perilous jungle; a memory of Seline Silvers’ past. In which she exhibits her unyielding strength and determination, her pursuit is for a vaccine to protect Ahkamians from diseases that may be brought from the coming Earthings. Snapping back to the present situation, she is a picture of vulnerability, watching in horror from the Presidential motorcade as the shuttle containing Earth’s major dignitaries explodes high above them on its return to the A.R.C.C. (Active Relocation Celestial Core). There are thought to be no survivors
Simultaneously, Rayn Waters, badly injured, fights for his life as he free falls amongst the burning debris of the devastated shuttle. Rayn epitomizes the human spirit battling against the odds. His tumultuous descent to the unfamiliar planet starkly contrasts the relative safety his family experiences while still aboard the A.R.C.C. spaceship. This poignant juxtaposition underscores the uncertainty and danger of their interstellar journey.
President Robert Calum, shaken by a vivid dream of an ancient warrior culture and grappling with the weight of leadership in these tumultuous times, reaches out to General Victor Shutlan seeking answers for the tragic explosion. General Shutlan is well established in the political structure and believes that the “aliens” have not come peacefully, but to destroy his people. General Shutlan has been working covertly in direct opposition to President Calum and intends to thwart the Earthlings from being able to settle permanently on the planet. Calum’s dream, a powerful narrative device, serves as a metaphor for the journey of the Waters and Silvers families, highlighting themes of resilience, leadership, and the relentless pursuit of a better future.
The Waters family, Bhrama, Rayn’s father in-law, and Rayn’s two young children Mina and Batu, show their unity and strength as they wake from cryogenic sleep into the confines of the A.R.C.C. spaceship now orbiting above Ahkam. Together they share the agonizing grief for Rayn’s almost certain death after news of the shuttle’s explosions reaches them. Their journey, marked by both chaos and solidarity, culminates in the descent down to their new, mysterious home.
There were no survivors of the shuttle explosion, save one. Rayn Waters miraculously surviving the explosion and subsequent fall finds himself behind “enemy lines”. Rayn will be the only Earthling who did not receive the brand, and alone has knowledge that the shuttle was attacked. He must now survive in secret in order to learn about what happened and find a way to get back to the A.R.C.C.
Rayn’s family, along with thousands of refugees, are left to continue the settlement process while much remains unknown. Things only get worse as the differences between the two species breed fear throughout the world. Rayn’s father in-law, Brahma, in an attempt to protect his grandchildren, accidentally kills an Ahkamian soldier, dramatically revealing an overlooked aspect in the differences between two species; due to the level of iron in the planet’s core, gravity is different on Ahkam, Earthings are stronger. Walter Zimons, a guard caught in the crossfire, becomes a symbol of the uncertainty and instability that permeate this new society. The further our characters venture down this rabbit hole, the more they realize they are totally unprepared for what is to come.
"Exodus" is a high-stakes drama with emotional depth, and world-building, setting the stage for a saga rich in potential and ripe for exploration. Book 2 leaves readers on the edge of their seats, eager for the next installment of this thrilling story.
