RAYN WATERS
EARTHLING (38 year old male) Rayn is a decorated fighter pilot who serves as Wing Commander of the A.R.C.C. fleet. He was chosen by President Reede to fly the first shuttle down to Ahkam upon arrival. A self taught engineer and aviator from a young age, he is an invaluable asset to the A.R.C.C. While blunt at times, he’s a man of his word. He is kind and spirited, a gifted pilot who can operate just about anything that flies, although his disposition at times makes people think he is flying by the seat of his pants.

Rayn Waters, an enigmatic figure, emerged from relative obscurity when the Active Relocation Celestial Core (A.R.C.C.) noticed his self-built low earth orbit spacecraft at 19. Raised in the Sawtooth Mountain Range after the loss of his parents as a boy, Rayn was a survivor with a knack for mechanics and aeronautical engineering. He honed his skills by reviving old jet fighters found in an abandoned Air National Guard base, teaching himself to fly and traveling vast distances to scavenge parts.
His self-taught skills in engineering and piloting culminated in the creation of his spacecraft, with an unknown source providing the fusion drive engine. His first launch led him to discover the covert A.R.C.C. ship under construction. This encounter caused an initial misunderstanding, with the A.R.C.C. launching an attack on Rayn, only to be thwarted by his superior piloting skills.
After being captured, Rayn's tenacity, resourcefulness, and talent for survival won him a spot in the A.R.C.C. He served as a spy, squadron leader, and recruiter, navigating the treacherous world of rebel wars and black-market dealings. Rayn also found love in this tumultuous environment, marrying fellow pilot Diane and raising two children, Mina and Batu.
Tragedy struck when Diana sacrificed herself to prevent a nuclear missile from destroying the A.R.C.C. ship. Her heroism ensured the survival of the human race as the ship, piloted by Rayn, left Earth forever. As the last awake human on the journey, Rayn's story is one of survival, resilience, and determination, making him a figurehead for humanity's hope as they venture towards their new home, Ahkam.
