THE CULTURAL EXCHANGE
The Cultural Exchange was founded in the Ahkamian year 1438 AG(year on Ahkam). It was a building dedicated to the two primary principles of the “Two Blue,” shared information and continued correspondence. It was a massive building serving as a great Observatory, Museum and Library, it also housed the branch of government devoted to sending and receiving future correspondence. This Cultural Exchange existed similarly on both planets.
Messages were continually sent back and forth in the form of large dumps of information approximately every 10 years.
Over the Years the Cultural Exchange became an integral part of society and was instrumental in establishing the continuity of government, religion, philosophy and art between the two worlds. Aligning both planets as society grew and evolved.
The central mission of the Cultural Exchange is based on one of the fundamental pieces of wisdom that Earth gave to Ahkam. The Chromos of Earth strongly emphasized the importance of creating physical representations and artifacts of the shared information, while never revealing the reason why Earth’s Chromos were so emphatic on this point. Earth, having experienced the loss and subsequent consequences of the destruction of untold amounts of records, art, literature and inventions leading them into the Lost Age. This loss of Earth’s records instilled them with this strong belief. Never again should digital devices be solely used for information storage. This is the guiding principle of the Cultural Exchange and heavily influenced Ahkamian society.
This central concept permeated far beyond the arts; in all aspects of government, education, and commerce. Everything was chronicled and filed in paper form as well as digitally. Around the globe on Ahkam massive libraries and record keeping facilities were common place. This also instilled a responsibility on an individual bases for this kind of collecting. Personal dedication for physical artifact collection and books was typical throughout the world.
