Title: NOTHIN BUT HEART

Book 8 of "ANOTHER BLUE"

We open with a detailed look at the moment the world changed: the assassination. It is shown in bullet time from each major character’s perspective and what they were doing at that exact moment. The intensity breaks when Rayn crashes out through the thick glass window of the Globe Room, high aloft the capital city, with Seline in his arms.

Rayn has been injured in the fight, he and Seline need to find a place to hide and heal. In this calm after the storm, they also find each other. Their unlikely and forbidden love proves to be strong enough to overcome everything and they give in to its power. The love that they find in each other is the spark that will eventually grow to light up all the world.

Aboard the A.R.C.C. ‘s flagship (aka the ARC) orbiting the planet, Admiral Kloman struggles to find a way to gain the upper hand. The situation of his people grows more tenuous with each passing day. Kloman has ceased sending pods of settlers down to Ahkam, but the A.R.C.C. was not built to support thousands humans living onboard indefinitely and they will soon run out of food and supplies, they must a solution but presently no where is safe. News of the assassination is reason enough to give assistance to the settlement cities. The remaining settlers aboard the Ark will be given a new mission, very different from their compatriots now on Ahkam. If a solution is not reached soon, the Admiral will have no choice but to prepare for war.

General Shutlan uses the chaotic and bewildering scene in the President’s office to his advantage. The murder is blamed on the deceased Brahma Waters. Martial law is proclaimed and the Senate is temporarily disbanded. The capital city is in chaos.

Seline decides that she must continue working with the General and hide what she knows to be the truth. After being intensely questioned, she convinces Shutlan that she sees she was wrong to trust Brahma. They have long been colleagues and Shutlan knows her to be sharp witted and a true patriot. They may have been on opposite sides of the argument, but he believes her to be more of an asset than a liability. Now, she’s able to go in eyes wide open with an asset of her own: Rayn Waters.

Sgt. Bronson, still far removed from what is going on in the capital, has managed to raise the large spaceship out of the lake. As Bronson settles in with her journal for the night, she is interrupted. A frantic subordinate officer has called her outside her tent. Volume 1 ends with the reveal of a tribal, nomadic people atop their massive horse-like creatures the Mangadai, completely surrounding the camp. They have an uncanny use of fire; their headdresses and weapons are alive with it. The final panels of Volume 1 starts on their chieftain, his headdress alight. The perspective begins it’s lift towards the heavens. Tilting down showing a circle of fire surrounding the camp as we continue upwards, looking down at a pinpoint of fire below. We lift higher and higher, a ringed Pangea covered with vast oceans and two orbiting moons comes into view, revealing for the first time what Ahkam looks like from outer space. The reader looks down on Ahkam, bringing into view the massive A.R.C.C Starship in the foreground, the view continues to travel deeper into space until Ahkam is nothing but a pale blue dot. We leave the readers awestruck, eagerly awaiting Volume 2 of ANOTHER BLUE.
